That is six hours a week on the 8 GB tier, at $0.65 an hour. The month your group drifts off to another game, the same server costs you nothing, because there is nothing to bill.
Top up whenever you like — there is no subscription to cancel. $5 lands on your account free when you sign up, which is roughly seven hours on the 8 GB tier.
Choose a version, a flavour, and a region. It is accepting connections in under two minutes, and the first 12-minute increment is charged as it boots.
Hit stop, or leave idle shutdown on and it stops itself 10 to 15 minutes after the last player disconnects. Your world stays exactly where it was. Billing goes to zero.
The 12-minute increment is the unit you are actually charged. Everything else in this table is derived from it.

Pre-paid credit, drawn down in 12-minute increments while a server runs. Starting a server charges the first increment immediately; after that you are charged once per 12 minutes until you stop it. On the $0.65/hr tier, each increment is $0.13.
At start, then every 12 minutes of runtime. Nothing accrues while a server is stopped — there is no idle fee, no reservation fee, and no monthly minimum.
Yes. Unused pre-paid credit is refundable on request. Promotional credit, including the $5 signup bonus, is not.
Versions, mods, sizing, backups, and the settings that save you credit.
Yes. You choose the version and the server flavour at creation time. Large modpacks want more memory — the 16 GB tier exists for exactly that.
4 GB handles a small vanilla group with light plugins. 8 GB is the sweet spot for 4 to 8 players on a plugin server. Go to 16 GB for heavy modpacks, big builds, or automation-heavy worlds.
Yes, in one click. Resizing up or down keeps your world; you just start billing at the new rate.
You create backups on demand and restore them yourself from the dashboard. We also keep periodic internal backups as a safety net — those are reachable through support if something goes badly wrong.
By default, yes. Idle shutdown stops the server 10 to 15 minutes after the last player disconnects so it stops drawing credit. Someone has to start it again from the dashboard before players can rejoin.
What happens when something breaks, and who picks up.
We monitor server health continuously and target high availability. We are still scaling the platform, so occasional maintenance windows happen and we announce them in Discord.
Most crashes are recovered automatically by our self-healing checks. If yours does not come back, restart it from the dashboard. If it still will not run, contact support and we will read the logs and restore your latest backup if it comes to that.
Email support during business hours, plus a Discord where you will usually get a faster answer. Critical incidents are monitored outside hours.
